Ry Cooder & Nick Lowe @ Zepp Nagoya (19:00 | ¥12,000)

Bluesy rock from one of the world's best guitarists and the irreplaceable Nick Lowe... almost worth ¥12,000.

 

thursday 5th

"Which is the right brain" Tour @ Tokuzo (19:00 | ¥3,000/¥3,500)
Montreal's Sunset Rubdown (side project of Wolf Parade's Spencer Krug) touring with the equally excellent OGRE YOU ASSHOLE from Tokyo. This is my ichiban choice for live music this month!

AKA Prime Numbers, a DJ/producer from the UK, bringing his smooth soul mix to Nagoya.

Grandaddy's Rockin' @ Club Rock 'n' Roll (19:00 | ¥2,000/¥2,300)

Jim & The Hickeys, Duck & The Billys, Cheany & 49er Bros... ever noticed how rockabilly bands always have an ampersand?

 

sunday 8th

The Novembers @ Apollo Theater (19:00 | ¥3,000)

I just discovered these shoegaze rockers from Tokyo, and I love them! You will too, if you like looking down.

 

monday 9th

Leonard Eto @ Tokuzo (19:00 | ¥4,000/¥4,500)

One of the best drummers you will ever see. From his time as a principal member of KODO to his work with musicians and artists around the world, this man is rhythm.

 

wednesday 11th

Franz Ferdinand @ Zepp Nagoya (19:00 | ¥7,000)

You know who they are, and you either love them or hate them. I love them... but do I love them enough to pay that much?

 

friday 13th

For 17 years, the Metro party people have been providing gays/lesbians/anyone with an open mind a place to get together and celebrate life. Come out and thank them for their dedication!

You might know this American band from their hit "Spotlight" from the movie Twilight... and that's all I've got.

 

thursday 19th

The Arabian Nights Story 4 @ Club JB's (19:00 | ¥1,500/¥2,000)

A fun night that celebrates the culture and exoticism of the Middle East, with tribal music, belly dancing, body art and Arabian clothing.

 

friday 20th

Argentinean Hernán Cattáneo is the special guest on this night of progressive house with DJs Ogawa and Tohru.
