B Spa La Soeur: Helping You Relax in the Middle of Sakae
By Ken Aichi
One of B Spa La Soeur's customers was kind enough to inform me that it is the only place in Nagoya where you can get the American-made "Dermalogica skincare system". If you have any idea what this means, then you'll probably be feeling like paying a visit to B Spa La Soeur right now.
And why wouldn't you? WIth its stylish interior and soft, moody lighting, B Spa La Soeur is capable of making you feel relaxed even before your treatment begins. Speaking of which, B Spa La Soeur is super-comprehensive, offering pretty much every skincare treatment imaginable, right down to microdermabrasion. "Micro-what?!" you ask. Microdermabrasion: using a crystal brush to scrub all of the dead skin cells (and years) off your face, which might sound kind of gross, but achieves instant results and immediately makes you look great.
If massages are your thing - and in today's high-stress, low-rest culture, they should be - then B Spa La Soeur has a whole array of options for you to choose from, the crowning jewel of which Keiko, the owner-operator, was really happy to show me: step inside The Heaven Shower and you'll find a mega-massage bed that uses seven (count 'em!) shower heads to both literally and metaphorically blast your problems away.
B Spa offers great solutions to the needs of a wide range of clients. With all of Nagoya's main hotels only a short walk or subway ride away, their massages are particularly popular with traveling business people, while their skincare treatments are more popular with local expats, including some who have become regulars (including the satisfied lady customer I met at the outset).
Finally, a tip from the professional herself: "People are initially drawn here because of Demalogica," Keiko says, "but I have something better." She points to her display of Exuviance skincare products, which, Keiko explains, are "formulated with exfoliating alphahydroxy acids, polyhydroxy acids and polyhydroxy bionic acids."
What does all this mean? You'll have to visit and find out. You won't be disappointed!
